Major Aaron Farnsworth enlisted in the U.S. Army Infantry in 2002, beginning his career as a Carl Gustaf gunner with the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. In 2004, he transitioned to the Indianapolis Recruiting Battalion, where he served as a U.S. Army recruiter before leaving active duty in 2006.

In 2014, Major Farnsworth commissioned into the Military Intelligence branch through the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. From 2014 to 2017, he was assigned to the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, Texas, where he served as a Battalion S-2 for the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, an assistant Battalion S-2 for the 1st Battalion, 77th Armored Regiment, and a platoon leader for the 2nd Brigade Engineer Battalion.

From 2019 to 2021, he was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado, serving as the Brigade Assistant S-2 for the 4th Sustainment Brigade and as the Battalion S-2 for the 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion.

His operational experience includes deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003), Operation Enduring Freedom (2004), and Operation Spartan Shield (2016–2017, 2020).

Major Farnsworth holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Ball State University and an M.A. in Applied Social Psychology from Claremont Graduate University.

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Assault Badge, Parachutist Badge with Bronze Service Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Gold Recruiter Badge.

Originally from Anderson, Indiana, Major Farnsworth and his wife, Heather, have one daughter, Lily.
