Dr. Adam Kalkstein

Dr. Adam Kalkstein is a climate scientist with an expertise in hazards, human health and human-environment interactions. Most recently he has been working to improve resiliency during summer training by better forecasting conditions that increase the likelihood of heat-related illness among Cadets.

Dr. Kalkstein received his Ph.D. and M.S. from Arizona State University with a B.A. from the University of Virginia and currently serves as the Chair of Regional Dynamics within the Center for Languages Cultures and Regional Studies (CLCRS). He has been enthusiastically teaching Physical Geography and Climatology for 16 years and holds a special passion for leading the Severe Weather Preparedness and Training experience for Cadets over the summer.
