MAJ Antonio Mendoza

A native of El Paso, Texas, Major Antonio Mendoza is an Army Adjutant General Officer (AG, 42B). Major Mendoza is a prior service enlisted Marine. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was assigned to the 1st Marine Division, 3rd Battalion 1st Marines at Camp Pendleton, California, from 1998 to 2003. After a combat deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Major Mendoza attended the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from their ROTC program, earning a B.A. with Honors in Sociology. Upon commission, he was branch detailed to the Field Artillery branch. Major Mendoza has served as a Fire Support Officer, Battery Executive Officer, and Battalion S1 staff Officer assigned to Fort Bliss, Texas, 1st Armor Division from 2013 to 2017 and later at Fort Hood, Texas, 1st Calvary Division from 2018 to 2019, where at this last assignment he was deployed to Poland and Germany in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.
