Dr. Carol A. Anderson, Ph.D.
Post-doctoral Research Fellow
Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering
Dr. Carol Anderson is a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Chemical and Biological Science and Engineering, working under Dr. Ryan Limbocker to better understand aggregation kinetics of the Alzheimer’s protein amyloid-β. She earned her B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in physics, minoring in chemistry in 2020. From there, she pursued a Master of Science in Biology at George Mason University, focusing on microbiology and infectious disease research. From there, she worked at American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) as a founding member of the Drug Development group and under BSL-3 conditions with the High Containment Laboratory Team.
She then pursued a PhD in Biosciences with George Mason University, once again conducting infectious disease research, including under BSL-3 conditions. In tandem with this, she worked as Dr. Aarthi Naryanan’s Research Manager. After completion of her PhD training, Dr. Anderson transition to USMA as a post-doctoral research fellow.
