MAJ Chaztine “Chaz” A. Crayne is a native of Erie, Michigan. In 2012, she graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice and a minor in military history. On a four-year ROTC scholarship, she commissioned as a Military Police Officer and was assigned to Fort Bragg, NC (known as Fort Liberty since 2023) with the 16th Military Police Brigade. There she served as a Military Police Platoon Leader in the 65th Military Police Company (Airborne) and as the Battalion S4 in the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 503D Military Police Battalion (Airborne). Following that, she served at Hunter Army Airfield, GA, as the Assistant Operations Officer in Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 3D Military Police Group (CID). 

In 2017, she attended the Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, GA, and was the assigned to Fort Riley, KS, with the 97th Military Police Battalion, where she served as the Plans Officer in the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment and as the Company Commander of 116th Military Police Company. In 2023, she was selected as an Army Enterprise and Behavioral Economics Officer (FA58). 

Major Crayne’s military education includes Airborne School, Military Police Basic Officer Leader Course, United States Advanced Airborne Course (Jumpmaster), Air Assault Course, Anti-Terrorism Officer Course, Hostage Negotiation Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, and First Sergeant and Company Commanders Pre-Command Course. Major Crayne’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (4), the Army Achievement Medal (4), the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold), Air Assault Badge, and the Senior Parachutist Badge. 

MAJ Crayne is married to MAJ Ryan Crayne, from Westland, Michigan. They both currently serving as MX400 instructors in the Simon Center for Professional Military Ethic at West Point, NY. Together they have three children - Leo (7), Owen (3), and Ellery (2).
