MAJ Ed Nicolas is an AG officer with experience as a branch detailed Infantry Officer. As an AG Officer, he served as a Brigade and Battalion S1/Adjutant with 12th Combat Aviation Brigade stationed in Ansbach, Germany. As an Infantry Officer, he served in positions of increasing responsibility within 7th Infantry Division as the Executive Officer for the Headquarters Support Company, and Rifle Platoon Leader with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment out of the 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team. In 2010, MAJ Nicolas deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan as an enlisted U.S. Air Force member working with Security Forces. MAJ Nicolas is a human geographer, and his research interests include political ecology, community resilience, environmental justice, disaster risk reduction, cultural geography, military geography, urbanization and future cities. MAJ Nicolas teaches Physical Geography (EV203) and Geography of Latin America (EV373).
