LTC(R) Jerry Hart is originally from Westwood, MA. He was a Junior Olympic and Golden Gloves boxer prior to attending West Point. Coach Hart graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1993 and was commissioned in the Transportation Corps. Coach Hart received his Master of Education in Physical Education from the University of Georgia in 2002. From 2002-2005, he taught boxing, combatives, and women’s self-defense in the Department of Physical Education at West Point. In addition, Coach Hart coached the Army club boxing team. He continued serving in a variety of leadership positions in the Army to include several deployments prior to retiring in 2015. Coach Hart has been back in the Department of Physical Education at West Point and coaching the boxing team since May 2020. He was appointed as Course Director for PE116 / Boxing in August 2023. He is happily married and has four amazing adult children.
