
Dr. Li-Hsing Lillian Ho
Assistant Professor
Dr. Li-Hsing Lillian Ho is currently an assistant professor in the Department of English and World Languages at the United States Military Academy. She holds a PhD in Chinese Literature from the National Tsinghua University, Taiwan. Her previous research includes the Enlightenment discourses in late Qing magazines and the impact of translation and bilingual writing on the modernization of the Chinese language. She has also utilized digital humanities methods to examine the dual influence of the May Fourth Language Revolution and the Soviet revolutionary language on the development of modern Chinese. Her recent works use sociolinguistic and social semiotic approaches to explore the evolution of the modern Chinese language and the relationship between language, propaganda, and civil society.
