
LTC Louis Jenkins was commissioned into the Army Signal Corps in 2004. His first assignment was service as Area Node Platoon Leader, C Company, 304th Tactical Signal Battalion, on Camp Colbern, South Korea. He also served in numerous staff positions, including Battalion S1 and Battalion Assistant S3. After attending the Signal Captain's Career Course, he deployed to Camp Virginia, Kuwait, where he served as the Company Commander of the 519th Theater Signal Company.
Upon completion of command, he earned his Master of Science degree from George Washington University. He then served as a rotating faculty member in USMA D/EECS. Following that tour, he completed his Army Intermediate Level Education requirement at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He then served as Brigade S6 for the 2nd Infantry Division Artillery, followed by service as the Battalion Executive Officer for the Baltimore Recruiting Battalion. He is currently completing his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He also attended BCAP, and is a primary select for battalion command. He is the devoted husband of Simone Jenkins, and father of Ambriah, Dasia, Benaiah, Isaiah, and Jyira Jenkins.
