Matthew Goetz earned his doctorate in American history from The George Washington University (GW) in 2023. His research focuses on foreign policy and politics in the Early American Republic. In addition to teaching at West Point, GW, and Georgetown University, he has worked in a variety of public history roles, including with the White House Historical Association, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the San Diego Archaeological Society, and the Wende Museum in Los Angeles.
