West Point Family Homes is proud to announce that three of its residents — Evelyn Sorenson, MacKenzie Deekens and Jeffrey Prosperie — have received funding for the 2021-22 academic year through the Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation.
The scholarships will aid Evelyn, MacKenzie and Jeffrey in their pursuit of college degrees in the fields of their choice. The annual scholarship program is open to residents throughout the Balfour Beatty Communities’ portfolio, including 56 military housing communities throughout the United States.
The Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation scholarship program awards academic scholarships to residents living in an owned and managed Balfour Beatty Communities housing community who are attending, or plan to attend, an accredited higher education or technical institution.
Scholarship recipients are evaluated on specific criteria, including academic achievement, demonstrated leadership skills, and a dedication to being a positive influence within the local community.
Since the scholarship program’s inception in 2009, Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation has awarded over 550 academic scholarships. The Foundation is also committed to honoring military service members — active, wounded and fallen — by supporting organizations that assist military personnel and their families.
