Greetings, West Point community! We are excited to share that the Legal Assistance Office has moved from Building 626 to the south side of Mahan Hall, Level A (under Social Sciences).
For those who don’t know, Mahan Hall is located across from Building 606 (Admissions). There is handicapped parking and a handicapped accessible ramp under the building on Thayer Road.
The office is open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday (except for holidays).
And more good news — you can schedule an appointment, and even receive some services, without even coming to the building. For most services, we are able to offer virtual appointments via Microsoft Teams.
Legal assistance attorneys and staff provide help on a variety of matters including cadet adverse actions and personal matters such as family law issues and estate planning.
The office provides legal assistance and preliminary legal advice to active-duty and retired service members, their family members and other eligible individuals.
Walk-in services are available for notarizations and most ministerial services. All other non-ministerial services require an appointment. Mahan Hall is card-accessible only. If you do not have card access to the building you will need to coordinate with a staff member to gain access.
To make an appointment, contact the Legal Assistance Office at 845-938-4541 and leave a voicemail; or via email at legalassistance@westpoint.edu.
