Walk A Mile to empowerment takes place April 24

The West Point Sexual Harassment Assault Response Prevention (SHARP) team hosts the Walk A Mile in observance of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. April 24 at the Beat Navy Tunnel, adjacent to Eisenhower Hall, which is also offering a resource fair.

The West Point community, cadets and staff and faculty are invited to participate in the walk to bring awareness and empower the community to end sexual violence.

The event begins at 9:50 a.m. with opening remarks from West Point Superintendent Lt. Gen. Steven Gilland in front of the Directorate of Public Works building, Building 667A. Then the participates will move to the Beat Navy Tunnel to begin the walk.

Community members can also wear denim as it is Demin Day, which supports sexual assault survivors.
