WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Jael-Marie Guy, daughter of Sgt. 1st Class Diontae Guy and Army veteran of 12-years, Mary-Joy Guy, signed her National Letter of Intent to play soccer at Brown University in front of her family, friends, school administrators, coaches and teammates in the James I. O’Neill High School Library on the evening of Nov. 20, 2024.

Guy, a Highland Falls native like her father, has spent the last four years as a standout student both in the classroom and on the field. Academically, she excels while taking honors and advanced placement classes and is part of the JROTC program where she was selected as the Cadet of the Year in 2023. She’s also been the class vice president all four years of high school and has participated in numerous extracurricular clubs including yearbook, Red Cross, Literary Magazine and National Honor Society.

On the soccer field, she has started on the varsity team all four years as a midfielder and was a regular goal scorer for the Raiders. As a dual citizen of the United States and the Philippines, her accomplishments on the field eventually earned her an international call up to the U-17 Philippines Women’s National Team to play in the 2024 Asian Cup. Since then, she has been called up to train with and eventually play on the senior team.

Her family is taking a lot of pride in her achievements saying, “We can't help but feel a profound sense of pride. Watching her blossom into the remarkable young woman she is today, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities of college, fills us with immense joy. Her hard work and dedication have always shone through, and we know she will continue to soar in this next phase of her life. Our family, friends and we are beyond proud of her and will always be here to cheer and support her every step of the way.”
