The West Point Fire Department (WPFD) presented its annual Open House for the West Point community Oct. 11 at H Lot in the Post Exchange parking lot.
The WPFD offered activities to the children including the Kids Firefighting Obstacle Course with firefighting gear, Fire Extinguisher Training, Bounce House, Fire Truck displays, Cornhole, Dunk a Firefighter and the announcement of the Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest winners.
The late afternoon event also included demonstrations of a vehicle extrication using equipment the firefighters use after an accident to save occupants and the Kids Safety House smoke trailer simulator.
The community children also got to meet Sparky the Fire Dog, and everyone received a complimentary hot dog and water for attending the Fire Prevention Week event.
Several entities helped throughout the event including members of the West Point Military Police.
