West Point’s Independence Day force protection message for July 1

The following parking and force protection measures will be in effect in support of the Independence Day Concert activities July 1 on West Point:

The West Point Band will host a concert and fireworks display at Trophy Point starting at 7 p.m. Saturday. The fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. The event is open to the general public.

• Spectators should park their vehicles at authorized parking lots and spaces throughout the installation.

• There will be no shuttle services to transport spectators to the venue. 

• There will be spaces in Clinton parking lots reserved for handicap parking. 

• The intersection of Pitcher Road and Upton Road to Howard Road will be closed from noon until the end of the event; to include North Dock parking lot. 

• Cullum Road in the vicinity of the Cadet Fine Arts Forum House to the Intersection of Washington Road and Ruger Road will be closed from approximately 3 p.m. until the end of the event. 

• In order to protect the grass in the amphitheater/Trophy Point area, those attending are asked not to stake out an area with rope, tape, tarps and/or blankets until after noon on the day of the events. Property left in the amphitheater/Trophy Point area before this time may be removed/discarded from its location. 

As with all special events that take place on the installation, safety and security are of paramount concern. Remain vigilant, maintain situational awareness and immediately report any suspicious activity to the Provost Marshal’s Office at 845-938-3333.
