Board of Visitors to Meet at West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Board of Visitors of the U.S. Military Academy will meet Friday, May 3, in the Superintendent’s Conference Room in Taylor Hall starting at starting at 9 a.m. The board will review and receive updates on the academic, physical and military programs.

The Board of Visitors is appointed under the provision of Section 4355 of Title 10 and the Federal Advisory Committee Act of 1972. It is the duty of the board to inquire about the academy’s morale and discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs and academic methods. The board consists of presidential appointees and members of Congress.

Presidential appointees are Vice Chair Brenda Sue Fulton; Elizabeth McNally; R. James Nicholson; Jane Holl Lute; Frederick H. Black; Meaghan C. Mobbs. The Senators are, Tammy Duckworth, Richard Burr, Joe Manchin and Jerry Moran. Representatives include Chair Steve Womack, Mike Conaway, Anthony Brindisi, Stephanie Murphy and Warren Davidson.

Guests are reminded report to the Visitor Control Center (in the basement of Visitors Center) to complete a security check and receive a badge to access the installation. Parking is available at Buffalo Soldier Field. Guests should ride the north-bound shuttle bus and get off at the Thayer Road Extension and walk up the road to the security station; a member of the staff will meet guests wishing to attend at 8:30 a.m. to escort them to the meeting location. Please note that all vehicles and persons entering the installation are subject to search and identification check. Please allow at least one hour for security checks and the shuttle ride.
