USMA Honored At Annual West Point Day In Albany

Cadets attend West Point Day in Albany

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The New York State Legislature has honored the U.S. Military Academy during the 72nd annual West Point Day in Albany, New York, on April 9. New York State Sen. James Skoufis invited West Point Senior Leaders and New York State Cadets to attend this year’s observance. 

Lt. Gen. Steven Gilland led a delegation of officers, the Chaplain, the First Captain, and local cadets to accept the New York State Legislature’s proclamation. They engaged with state leaders about the history and importance of West Point in developing future leaders of character. 

There are 274 men and women of the United States Corps of Cadets who come from the state of New York. West Point Day highlights their accomplishments, dedication, and service as members of neighboring communities. 

Cadets from surrounding areas met with congressional members from their hometown districts:

  • Daniel Pollydore, Class of 2025, Albany, N.Y. 

  • Christina Vozzo, Class of 2025, Valley Cottage, N.Y.

  • Olivia Raykhman, Class of 2025, Brooklyn, N.Y.

  • Jacob Crossman, Class of 2026, Jericho, N.Y.

  • Jake Wesley, Class of 2026, Johnstown, N.Y.

  • Clare Gabriele, Class of 2026, Southampton, N.Y.

  • Navroop Singh, Class of 2027, Massapequa, N.Y.

  • Daniel Chan, Class of 2027, Syosset, N.Y.

  • Tracy Chen, Class of 2027, Queens, N.Y.

  • Ella St. Louis, Class of 2027, New City, N.Y.
