Sprint Football rolls to fifth straight win

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point Sprint Football team (5-0, 2-0) remained undefeated beating Mansfield (1-5, 1-2), 42-21, on Oct. 26 at Shea Stadium.
 
The Black Knights totaled 396 of total offense on the day, and 224 on the ground. Running back Arthur Lavalais led the way with a team-high 122 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
 
QB Kyle West, son of head coach Mark West, passed 13-for-22 for 163 yards with a pair of passing touchdowns and an interception.
 
Lavalais scored his first touchdown of the game to kick off the scoring early in the first quarter, a 21-yard run to put the Black Knights up 7-0.
 
Army would go on to score 42 unanswered points before Mansfield would get on the board late in the third quarter.
 
Army wide receiver Devon Brown hauled in three passes for 45 yards and two touchdowns. Brown hauled in a 30-yard touchdown in the first quarter and an 11-yard score in the third quarter.
 
Running back Henry Beck also scored two touchdowns, rushing 12 times for 89 yards.
