Army West Point women's basketball took down Colgate on the road by a score of 55-50 in the Patriot League quarterfinals on March 7 in Hamilton, New York.

Freshman Reese Ericson led all scorers with 19 points including 4-6 shooting from three-point range while Sabria Hunter posted her 18th double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

The Black Knights will take on top-seeded Boston University at 6 p.m. March 9 in the Patriot League semifinals.

After receiving her Patriot League Rookie of the Week award pregame, Reese Ericson quickly showed the fans in Hamilton why. Ericson hit a long-range two on Army's first possession before pulling up to knock down her first look from three. Ericson connected on two more three-pointers within the first four minutes of the game, getting Army out to an 11-2 lead with her 4-4 start from the field.

The rest of the Black Knights struggled to put the ball in the basket through the early stages, with a Natalie Rhine three-ball being the only other field goal in the quarter for Army. The Black Knights took a 15-12 lead into the second quarter.

Sabria Hunter kept Army afloat in the second, scoring the first three field goals for the Black Knights. Colgate tied the score at 22-22 with 4:48 to play. A true defensive battle for the remainder of the half, Army eventually went into the break with a 24-23 lead. The two teams shot a combined 7-31 in the second quarter.

Hunter continued to carry the offensive load again in the quarter, getting Army out to a 36-31 lead with seven points in the quarter. Neither team scored a field goal in the final 3:10 once again, as Army continued to hold onto its lead. The Black Knights took a 37-33 lead into the final quarter.

Ericson got the scoring started for Army in the fourth with a basket, but the Raiders answered to cut the lead down to two with 8:54 to play. A 5-0 spurt from Army was capped by a steal and layup in transition from Hope Brown which put Army ahead 44-37.

With 3:42 to play, Ericson hit the biggest shot of the game with a three-pointer which put the Black Knights up by eight. It marked a 4-4 start from downtown for Ericson. Hunter converted a pair of free throws on Army's next possession to give Army its largest lead of the second half at 50-40 with 2:59 left. Army iced the game at three free-throw line, going 11-14 in the fourth to secure the victory. Sam McNaughton converted on all four of her attempts from the charity stripe in the final minute to give Army a 55-50 win.

Army never trailed in the contest to punch its ticket to the Patriot League semifinals.
