After nearly 50 years, the original Company H-1 guidon was returned to Company H-1 during a ceremony on March 25 at Robinson Auditorium in Thayer Hall. U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen stole the H-1 guidon and other companies’ guidons during the 1974 Army-Navy Game. While other guidons were later returned, the H-1 guidon remained lost in possession of Midshipmen for 50 years. Former Company H-1 members regained possession of the original guidon by exchanging it for a Company H-1 challenge coin. After the guidon’s return, it will be secured back in the company area.
