The Class of 1952 Distinguished Lecture, hosted by the Department of Social Sciences and endowed by the U.S. Military Academy Class of 1952, is an annual speaker series that exposes cadets to exceptional policy makers, military leaders, academic scholars and business experts. The purpose of the series is to further enrich cadet intellectual and academic development.
This year’s Class of 1952 Distinguished Lecture occurred April 15 at Robinson Auditorium with retired Gen. David Petraeus providing more than 1,000 cadets from SS202 American Politics and SS307 Introduction to International Relations and faculty members insights from his professional experiences as well as his recent book “Conflict: The Evolution of Warfare from 1945 to Ukraine.”
Col. Suzanne Nielsen, head of the Department of Social Sciences, led the discussion with Petraeus that also included conversations on how today’s military is approaching innovation, technology and the future of national defense.
