(Above) More than 1,200 new cadets descended on Lake Frederick during March Out on Tuesday for an historical experience that has not been conducted since 2009 as they set up “Tent City.”

The new cadets spent hours assembling their bivouacs and organizing their equipment (left and right) in preparation for the remaining key Soldier skills tests as part of their final Field Training Exercise that includes Mountaineering, Leader Reaction Course and the Long Gray Line Starts Here event.

Additionally, they will take part in Wellness/Character Day, recreational sports, talent shows and an awards ceremony.

Following this FTX, the new cadets will march 12 miles back to the U.S. Military Academy on Monday and officially join the Corps of Cadets during the Acceptance Day Parade Aug. 14.
