About the Projects Day Research Symposium

West Point’s Projects Day Research Symposium is a premier annual event showcasing cadet-led research and innovation across various disciplines. The symposium features the results of cadet work across various disciplines. Demonstrations include posters, presentations, static and dynamic displays, and question-and-answer sessions that take place across academy grounds.

More than 350 research projects are typically showcased by over 900 cadets, and USMA boasts more than 70 Research Symposium collaborators in government, industry, and academia. Each year's event promises to be another exceptional exhibition of collaborative research, problem-solving, and practical application. Key leaders, researchers, and benefactors from across various academic institutions, industries, and government converge on the academy to witness the outcomes of cadets’ hard work.

Research is a strength of West Point and provides context to the classroom. Cadets are involved in all of the research conducted at West Point, keeping in mind the USMA's mission to "build, educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets to be commissioned leaders of character committed to the Army values and ready for a lifetime of service to the Army and Nation." The Army leverages this talent to solve its most complex problems.
