Service and Community Enrichment Activities

At West Point, cadets are encouraged to grow as leaders by serving others. They volunteer in local communities, mentor youth, support veterans, and take part in service projects like blood drives and environmental cleanups. Cadets also have access to a strong spiritual life, with chapels, religious services for many faiths, and opportunities for faith-based fellowship and reflection. These experiences help cadets build character, connect with others, and make a positive impact beyond the academy.

Directorate of Cadet Activities

Clubs are paid for with nonappropriated funds (NAFs) from donors and from the Directorate of Cadet Activities (DCA) auxiliary service. Clubs are not sponsored unless USMA can provide an ongoing level of support for their activities.

Departments

West Point Academic Departments support many of the academy's extracurricular activities, sponsoring them directly or providing support in the form of mentoring.

USMA Programs

Extracurricular activities at West Point are part of the 47-month developmental experience that turns cadets into leader of character - helping them develop academically, militarily, and physically.
