Our department is internationally respected as the Army's Systems Engineering Department. We are home to world-class military and civilian scholars and offer three undergraduate majors to our cadets – Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, and Systems and Decision Sciences. Department faculty are expected to teach a wide range of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management courses, serve as advisors to cadet capstone projects, and conduct research with cadets.

Military Job Opportunities

We are seeking officers from all commissioning sources and branches who are passionate in helping the Systems Team to educate, inspire, and develop the future of our Army. These West Point instructor assignments include the opportunity to earn a master's degree or Ph.D. from a premiere U.S. graduate school, fully funded through the ACS Program. 

Direct Hire Opportunities:

There are also occasional opportunities for officers, who already possess a master’s degree or PhD, to join the Department as a Direct Hire. The Direct Hire Selection Boards are held separately from the ACS Selection Boards.  If you are interested in a Direct Hire Opportunity, please start a TEACH Application and contact the Department S1 Team directly.

  • Last Name
  • Middle Name
  • First Name
  • Official Email Address (for military applicants, use “.mil” address)
  • Account Type: Select “Applicant”

Important Notes:

  1. When selecting which Board you wish to compete in, select the Calendar Year of the Board. Do not choose the Fiscal Year.
  2. When describing your Career Timeline to the Board, include when you arrived at your current duty station, when you started your current position, when you are slated to start your next position (if known), and when you are slated to PCS next.
  3. If you applied for a previous board and wish to compete again, please update your existing TEACH Application and contact the Department S1 Team directly.
